UN Secretary General address Global Afghan Refugees Conference

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrives pakistan.Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the distinguished guest ۔Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Munir Akram and senior Foreign Ministry officials were also present on the occasion.Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Gutres will have a special meeting with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi shortly.Important regional and global issues including occupied Jammu and Kashmir will be discussed in this meeting.This evening, the Secretary General will also address a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the UN, Foreign Ministry.The UN Secretary General will meet Pakistan’s top political and military leadership, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, during his 3-day visit.
The Secretary General will also address the Global Afghan Refugees Conference.
The conference aims to highlight the 40-year-old hosting and efforts of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
Delegates from more than 20 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran and UNHCR chief Philip Grandi will also be present at the conference.The Secretary-General will meet with Pakistani peacekeepers serving in UN peacekeeping missions in Islamabad and will also see a photo exhibition in this regard.
Antonio Guterres will also visit Lahore and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib on February 18, where he will visit the historic kingdom mosque and the royal fort. School children will also receive polio vaccinations in Lahore and meet interfaith leaders in Lahore
