US Sign Taliban peace agreement, US troops to withdraw in 14 months

The agreement was signed by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Afghan Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, from the Afghan Taliban at a ceremony in Doha, Qatar’s capital.Under the Doha agreement, the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan will take place over the next 14 months, in response to which the Taliban have to guarantee that the Afghan territory will not allow the use of terrorist organizations, including al-Qaeda.  According to a joint statement issued by the United States and the Afghan government, US forces will withdraw from Afghanistan in 14 months, and the plan will be subject to a peaceful agreement by the Taliban. Following this peace agreement between the United States and the Afghan Taliban, negotiations between the Afghan government and the Afghan Taliban are to be called inter-Afghan negotiations.
