ISLAMABAD – The IMF has also backed the possibility of increasing the salaries and pensions of government employees. According to the details, there is good news for the government employees who are worried about the non-increase in salaries and pensions in the annual federal budget that the Ministry of Finance has hinted at an increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees.

The private TV channel said in a report that the finance ministry had said that the increase in salaries and pensions would be increased as conditions improved. The finance ministry says salaries and pensions could be raised if the economic situation improves, with the IMF backing it.

The IMF says that if the situation improves, the government can raise money by imposing a five per cent surcharge on imports, which could increase the salaries and pensions of government employees.

This increase will be made in the mini-budget.
It may be recalled that the federal government has also decided not to increase salaries and pensions, however, the government had announced no reduction in salaries and pensions. Civil servants were outraged at the government’s announcement that no increase was being made, saying that by doing so, government employees were being treated unfairly.

The opposition had also opposed the government’s decision and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif had said that not increasing salaries and pensions under the pressure of the IMF was cruel.

However, sources said that the government did not increase salaries and pensions at the request of the IMF, but now there are indications of an increase.
