Iran’s appeal to US International Court of Justice against US sanctions
Iran has filed a petition with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against the continuation of US sanctions despite the Corona epidemic.

Most of the sanctions imposed on Iran in 2000 were lifted after the nuclear deal JCPOA in 2006, but the United States has announced its separation from the deal and imposed new and stricter sanctions in various areas, including energy and banking.

Iran has written a letter to the European Union’s foreign policy chief against Britain, France and Germany over a draft resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Since then, Iran has knocked on the door of the International Court of Justice against the United States to lift economic sanctions.

The United States wants to cut off oil exports from Iran, so sanctions have been imposed on countries that trade with Iran.

The Iranian government says the sanctions have made it difficult to deal with the epidemic during the outbreak of the corona virus.

Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif has also written a letter to EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell stating that Britain, France and Germany are violating the JCPOA.
