SC rejects national bank appeal plea, upholds PHC decision in NBP employees special pay scale case

ISLAMABAD, Supreme Court (SC) while upholding Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision in the case pertaining to special pay scale of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) employees has rejected national bank appeal plea.

The court has ordered to take action against the Board officers who had allowed to grant special pay scales.

A two members bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up the case for hearing Friday.

The counsel for the NBP argued during the hearing of the case the bank will have to suffer financial burden of Rs 16 billion due to PHC decision.

The CJP remarked you were think in this regard at the time when iscrimination was made among the employees. Officers consider the bank their private property.

Earlier PHC had declared the difference of salaries between the management training officers and cadre employees as discrimination. The PHC had ordered to pay salaries and perks to the MTO employees equal to the cadre employees.

The SC while upholding PHC decision has wrapped up National Bank appeal plea.
