Rupees 405m precious stones seized at Torkham

Customs Appraisement officials at Torkham border foiled an attempt to smuggle millions of ruppes of precious stones from Afghanistan on Saturday, officials said.
Custom official Ayaz told The News that taking action on a tip-off a coal loaded truck(KBL-1881) coming from Afghanistan was intercepted at Torkham border.
He said during search they recovered 71 kilograms of raw precious stones from the hidden cavities of truck.
Ayaz said the seized precious stones were included of Kunzite, Green Spodomen and Scapolite.
The value of the seized precious stones in open market is Rs405 Million in Pakistan.
The official said they also seized the truck and coal worth 6 million rupees.
Driver identified as Noor Aziz,resident of Afghanistan is arrested and First Information Report(FIR) registered against him
