An international conference on environmental changes and sustainable development goals was inaugurated at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan.
The conference, titled “International Conference on Sustainable development Goals (ICSDG-2024)”, witnessed the participation of national and international experts.
On the sidelines of conference Physics students presented projects and posters to contribute towards sustainable development goals.
The conference featured over 50 experts from various countries including the Ireland, Japan, Turkey, Malaysia, and Indonesia, along with representatives from universities across the country.
The research presented at the conference focuses on achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, including poverty alleviation, hunger and malnutrition eradication, and mitigating environmental changes.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahzad Murtaza, Registrar Dr. Muhammad Sagir, Dr. Muhammad Bilal Tahir, and others.
Prior to the conference, an exhibition of projects was organized by the Institute of Physics, where students showcased projects aimed at Sustainable development goals. Speaking to the media, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahzad Murtaza expressed the university’s commitment to sustainable development. He emphasized the importance of applied research in societal and social progress. He stated that Khwaja Fareed University not only serves Pakistan but also provides a platform for research collaboration globally. Such programs are organized on a regular basis to ensure continuous progress in education and research.
The Vice Chancellor and other faculty members visited the project exhibition, interacted with students, and assured them of all possible support for their research endeavors. The event was attended by Registrar Dr. Muhammad Sagir, Dr. Badar ul Islam, Dr. Yasir Niaz, Dr. Ahmed Sohaib, Dr. M. Anwar Farooq, Dr. Jallat Khan, Dr. Farhan Chughtai, along with administrative officers and a large number of students.
