Hub 31 August: On the direction of Secretary Irrigation Balochistan Hafiz Abdul Majid, Executive Engineer Irrigation Canal reached Hub Dam visit.
WAPDA officials, technical experts and sub-engineers of the dam participated in the meeting. In the meeting, WAPDA officials told that the water storage in the hub dam is 635,000 acre feet. The water level has reached 339 feet. In case of overflow, water will start flowing from the spillway.
In the meeting, WAPDA officials, district administration and irrigation canal engineer decided to continue monitoring and coordination in view of the situation of rains. The situation is being updated with the support of the district administration.
The machinery of the owners of the crash plant in the Hub River has also been removed. Executive Engineer Irrigation Canal Hub Abdul Jabarzahri told the dam officials that on the instructions of the Secretary Irrigation, the staff deployed in the catchment areas of the Hub Dam and the field staff including the control room were kept on high alert. In the meeting, the experts of Hub Dam told the new Executive Engineer Irrigation Canal Hub Abdul Jabarzahri that at any time water can start leaking from the Hub Dam spillway.
Axion Irrigation Canal Hub Dam Engineer Abdul Jabar Zahri informed the participants of the meeting and said that an alert has been issued to the public by our department and the district administration of Hub. In case there is no harm, so people should take precautionary measures.
