Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, has described the APS Peshawar tragedy as one of the most heart-wrenching events in Pakistan’s history.

 

In his statement on the 10th anniversary of the tragic incident, the minister said the martyrdom of the students and teachers of APS will forever be remembered.

 

He paid homage to the innocent children who sacrificed their lives, laying the foundation for lasting peace in the country and uniting the entire nation, government, and institutions against a common enemy.

“The grief of APS martyrs lives on in our hearts and will remain there forever,” Khetran remarked.

 

On December 16, 2014, terrorists brutally attacked Army Public School in Peshawar, mercilessly killing young students and their teachers. Reflecting on this tragic day,

 

Minister Khetran said, “This anniversary reminds us of the painful moment when the enemies of humanity executed this barbaric act.”

 

The minister highlighted how the tragedy became a turning point for Pakistan, leading to unity across political, military, and civil domains.

 

The National Action Plan (NAP), a collective initiative of the government, political parties, and military leadership, was a direct response to this incident.

 

He termed the plan a timely and effective step towards a peaceful Pakistan.

Khetran emphasized that the Balochistan government played a significant role in implementing the National Action Plan, contributing to the fight against terrorism.

 

He further stated, “The world witnessed that, like other heroes of this nation, our children also embraced martyrdom and created a legacy that will never be forgotten.”

 

The minister expressed his solidarity with the families of the APS martyrs, acknowledging December 16 as a day of immense sorrow for the bereaved parents.

 

“On this day, they were separated from their beloved children forever, yet they wrote a story of sacrifice that will be remembered for generations,” he said.

He praised the resilience and courage of the families, stating,

 

“The Balochistan government salutes the unwavering strength and determination of the families of APS martyrs, who stood as a beacon of patience and resolve in the face of unimaginable tragedy.”

 

Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran concluded his statement by reaffirming the government’s commitment to honoring the legacy of the APS martyrs.

 

He assured the families that their sacrifices would continue to inspire the nation’s collective resolve to eliminate terrorism and build a peaceful future for generations to come.

 

The APS Peshawar tragedy remains a solemn reminder of the cost of peace and the enduring courage of a nation united against terrorism.
