Quetta: The Election Commission of Pakistan has restored the membership of Adil Bazai, a National Assembly member from Quetta, and revoked the earlier notification that had de-notified him.

Adil Bazai’s membership has been reinstated in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.

Following this development, he will now be considered an independent member of the National Assembly instead of a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Bazai was disqualified by the Election Commission following a reference submitted by the Speaker of the National Assembly on the request of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.

However, after challenging the decision in the Supreme Court, the apex court ruled in Bazai’s favor and reinstated his membership.

According to the latest notification issued by the Election Commission, Adil Bazai will immediately be recognized as a member of the National Assembly but will now sit as an independent member rather than representing any political party.

Bazai’s return as an independent member is seen as a political setback for PML-N.

This development comes at a time when the party is striving to consolidate its political strength.

On the other hand, Bazai’s independent status is expected to reshape political alignments in Balochistan, potentially altering the region’s political landscape.

This decision marks a significant shift in Balochistan’s political scenario, and its implications may unfold in the coming days.
