The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) and NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting sustainable development and modernization of Gwadar.
The agreement was signed during a high-level delegation visit of GDA Director General Shafqat Anwar Shahwani to NED University.
Under this MoU, NED University will provide technical assistance to GDA in the following areas:
Capacity-building training
Community consultations
Engineering assessments of infrastructure projects
Efficient utilization of historical heritage buildings
Rehabilitation and development of old city areas, including Shahi Bazaar and the Model Village project
The signing ceremony was attended by NED University’s Dean Dr. Nauman, Registrar Syed Ghazanfar Hussain, and other faculty members.
This landmark agreement reflects GDA’s commitment to transforming Gwadar on modern lines and serves as a practical example of collaboration between academia and development authorities for sustainable growth.
