The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Quetta has imposed a complete ban on the installation of tube wells without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the District Water Board Company and Balochistan Water Board following the approval of the Balochistan Water Policy.

According to WASA, any drilling machine installed without permission will be considered illegal, and legal action will be taken under the current water policy and regulations.

A WASA spokesperson stated that strict measures are being taken to prevent the illegal use of water in the city.

All tube well owners and consumers with illegal water connections have been directed to complete their registration immediately. Those with outstanding dues must pay them as soon as possible.

WASA officials have highlighted that water scarcity is a serious issue in the city, and the installation of illegal tube wells is further depleting underground water levels.

To address this crisis, strict action will be taken against illegal water connections and unregistered tube wells under the Balochistan Water Policy.

WASA has also appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary water usage and comply with government regulations by ensuring their water connections are legally registered. This will help maintain a fair distribution of water in the city.
