GDA Delegation Visits Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Discusses New Opportunities for Development and Research

A high-level delegation from the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), led by Director General Shafqat Anwar Shahwani, visited the Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS) in Islamabad.

 

During the visit, the delegation had a detailed meeting with Dr. Talat Shabbir, Director of ISS, Research Fellow Asadullah Khan, and other officials.

The delegation was briefed on the research and published studies conducted by this prestigious policy institute.

During the visit, the GDA Director Generali dscussed the ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly highlighting the positive impact of the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital.

 

This hospital is providing modern and quality healthcare services free of charge to thousands of deserving patients in Makran, making it an exceptional public project under CPEC. Even critics of CPEC acknowledge the greatness of this initiative.

GDA and the Institute of Strategic Studies agreed to establish a research platform for mutual collaboration and signed memorandums of understanding between the two organizations.

 

The primary goal of this platform is to incorporate the aspirations of the local population, particularly youth and women, into development policies, ensuring sustainable and balanced growth.

A detailed discussion was also held on the immense potential of the blue economy.

 

Various possibilities were explored for promoting economic development in the region through the utilization of marine resources, which would create new job opportunities for the local population.

This visit marks the beginning of positive and constructive cooperation between GDA and the Institute of Strategic Studies, which will play a significant role in promoting future development and research in the region.
