Mir Liaquat Lehri’s Visit to the Civil Secretariat: “Officers Arrive for Three Hours, Then Disappear!”
Web Report
If anyone wants to know what punctuality means in office hours, they should avoid a visit to the Civil Secretariat Block 01 in Balochistan—because 90% of the officers and staff there are clearly unfamiliar with this concept!
On Monday, when Parliamentary Secretary for S&GAD, Mir Liaquat Ali Lehri, made an unexpected visit to Block 01, the scene was more like a deserted building than a government office. Most of the offices were empty, and the few people present had surprised expressions on their faces—perhaps because they were caught red-handed during work hours!
11 AM Arrival, 2 PM Leave: Balochistan’s New Work Mode
Commenting on the “unique” workingstyle of the officers, Mir Liaquat Lehri said, “Here, officers arrive at 11 AM and by 2 PM, they disappear as if life couldn’t exist without a government salary!”
He further added, “If the government cannot ensure that officers are present on time at the Civil Secretariat Block 01, what must be the condition of offices in the interior of Balochistan?”
Officers’ Performance or the Province’s Decline?
Bureaucratic performance in Balochistan has already been questioned, but this visit seemed to seal the deal.
Mir Liaquat Lehri sarcastically remarked, “The officers and departments responsible for running the province need reform themselves. Their performance is disappointing.”
He added, “When officers arrive at 12 PM, what can be expected from the staff?”
Will the Government Take Action, or Will This Be Forgotten Like Always?
Absenteeism, sluggishness, and poor performance in Balochistan’s government offices are not new, but the real question is: Will the government take concrete action this time, or will this news fade away like other bureaucratic scandals?
The people of Balochistan are waiting to see if anyone will finally put an end to the “11 to 2 job” culture!
