Chagai: Reko Diq, Balochistan’s largest mining project, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing maximum employment opportunities to the local people of Chagai, paving the way for development and prosperity in the region.
According to Reko Diq Mining Company, 78% of the project’s workforce is from Balochistan, with more than 50% being local employees from Chagai.
This initiative is not only increasing job opportunities but also strengthening the local economy, marking a significant step forward for the region.
To promote skill development, technical training is being provided to young people in Nokundi in collaboration with the Hunar Foundation.
This initiative aims to equip them with expertise in modern mining and engineering, enabling them to seize better opportunities in the future.
During the Reko Diq project, 7,500 jobs will be created, and once production begins, 4,000 permanent positions will be available, offering a golden opportunity for Chagai’s youth.
Over the past two years, the company has awarded contracts worth PKR 6.1 billion to local suppliers in Chagai and Balochistan.
This has strengthened local businesses and enhanced the skills of contractors and entrepreneurs.
Reko Diq Mining Company has also pledged to invest further in developing local businesses and contractors’ expertise to maximize economic benefits for the region.
The company has emphasized that employee and operational security remain a top priority, dismissing any false claims as unacceptable.
