Reko Diq Mining Company Holds Open Public Forum in Nokkundi to Discuss Local Development Projects

Nokkundi, February 21, 2025 – Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) organized an open public forum in Nokkundi, District Chagai, which saw a large participation of local residents, political and social leaders, and youth. The forum was held at RDMC Technical Institute, managed by Hunhar Foundation.

During the forum, the RDMC team briefed attendees about various community development initiatives, with a special focus on the skills development program in collaboration with Hunhar Foundation and the Mother & Child Health Center established under the Indus Hospital Network.

The Community Engagement Manager, Ali Dost Yalanzei, Community Investment Lead, Isa Tahir Sanjrani, HR Lead, Inayat Kabdani, and Community Engagement Lead, Noor Khan Mengal, addressed the concerns and queries raised by community members.

Regarding the publication of employee lists, it was clarified that RDMC adheres to international human resource best practices, ensuring employee privacy and security by not disclosing personal information publicly.

It was also highlighted that as of January 2025, 78% of RDMC’s total workforce comprises employees from Balochistan, with over 50% belonging to District Chagai, particularly from Nokkundi.

Additionally, Hunhar Foundation’s Program Manager, Qazi Taimur Sanjrani, and Indus Hospital’s Operations Manager, Sher Jan Baloch, gave presentations emphasizing their organizations’ contributions to local employment and community development. They revealed that over 95% of employees at Indus Hospital and Hunhar Foundation are from Balochistan, with the majority from District Chagai.

Local participants appreciated RDMC’s transparency and commitment to community engagement, urging for more such open forums to strengthen communication between the company and the local population.

Reko Diq Mining Company reaffirmed its commitment to holding similar public forums in the future to keep the community informed about development projects and address their concerns effectively.
