Quetta, March 6 – In line with the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the process of free distribution of textbooks in all government schools across the province has been successfully completed ahead of schedule.
Chairman of the Balochistan Textbook Board, Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar, presided over a review meeting at the board’s office to assess the distribution of textbooks.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Balochistan Textbook Board, Dr. Niaz Tareen, along with other officials and staff members.
Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar stated that, for the first time in the province’s history, all government schools received textbooks before the start of the 2025 academic year.
He further highlighted that the Balochistan Textbook Board successfully delivered textbooks to every district at the union council level, ensuring 100% implementation of the distribution plan.
According to official data, 9,309,000 textbooks have been distributed across various districts of the province.
He credited the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Provincial Minister of Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani for their commitment to improving the education sector.
The Chief Minister has issued clear instructions that no student should suffer academic losses due to the unavailability of textbooks.
Providing details on the distribution process, Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar revealed that:
1,289,232 books were distributed in Quetta, 554,462 in Pishin, 440,837 in Khuzdar, 596,205 in Kech, 266,383 in Lasbela, 395,872 in Naseerabad, 212,992 in Panjgur, 175,404 in Jaffarabad, 216,697 in Usta Muhammad, 270,126 in Sohbatpur, 238,644 in Killa Saifullah, 380,090 in Hub, 196,051 in Gwadar, 315,605 in Ziarat, 199,137 in Mastung, 267,309 in Barkhan, 181,013 in Kalat, 108,979 in Chagai, 167,237 in Kharan, 207,639 in Kachhi, 109,842 in Surab, 160,541 in Awaran, 170,668 in Nushki, 244,289 in Loralai, 188,481 in Jhal Magsi, 258,509 in Killa Abdullah, 43,069 in Sherani, 134,067 in Kohlu, 87,989 in Musakhel, 99,324 in Sibi, and 57,227 in Dera Bugti.
Dr. Gulab Khan Kakar emphasized that, for the first time, all government schools received textbooks before reopening, allowing teachers to complete their syllabi on time without disruption to students’ learning.
He also revealed that this year, through financial discipline, the Balochistan Textbook Board saved 7.5 billion rupees directly and over one billion rupees indirectly.
The chairman stated that the policy of the Government of Balochistan and the Education Department reflects the effective utilization of financial resources and the government’s sincere efforts toward educational development.
He reiterated that under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, education remains the government’s top priority, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
The free distribution of textbooks is a significant step toward the educational development of Balochistan, ensuring that no child is deprived of essential learning materials.
