Nokkundi, Chagai District, March 3, 2025: Reko Diq Mining Company has launched a scholarship program for deserving and talented students of Chagai district.

This initiative is part of the company’s social responsibility efforts, aimed at providing quality education opportunities to local communities.

The scholarship program has been introduced for students of grades six, seven, and eight in seven primary schools of Chagai district, offering financial assistance to bright students facing economic hardships.

Through a rigorous and transparent selection process, 14 students have been awarded scholarships. These students belong to villages near the Reko Diq project, including Humai, Mashki Chah, Nok Chah, Durbin Chah, and Tang Kachao.

To ensure access to the best educational opportunities, a thorough assessment of schools in Quetta and other nearby cities was conducted. After careful evaluation, Iqra Residential School and Masoom Educational Complex were selected for their high academic standards, experienced faculty, and modern facilities.

According to Reko Diq Mining Company’s Community Investment Lead, Issa Tahir, several schools in these areas remained closed for decades, depriving children of quality education.

Over the past two years, Reko Diq Mining Company has successfully rehabilitated these seven schools and created educational opportunities for students in Chagai.

This scholarship program is a significant step toward ensuring that talented students receive the necessary support to continue their education.

Based on recommendations from community development committees, the company plans to expand the program in the future, enabling more deserving students in Chagai district to access quality education.

This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to educational development, playing a key role in empowering local communities.
