Nushki, March 16, 2025 – A deadly attack targeted a security forces convoy in the border city of Nushki, Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of five personnel and injuries to 30 others.
According to police sources, a bus carrying security personnel was attacked on the Nushki-Dalbandin Highway.
The explosion was so powerful that nearby buildings’ windows shattered, leaving the area in a state of devastation.
The injured have been shifted to Nushki Teaching Hospital and the FC Headquarters Hospital, where several are reported to be in critical condition.
Nature of the Attack & Investigation
Security forces and police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
Initial reports suggest that the attack may have been a suicide bombing, but bomb disposal squads and intelligence agencies are gathering further evidence.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, stating:
“Those who disrupt Balochistan’s peace will face a severe fate.
The enemies of the state must know that their evil intentions will be crushed by the government.”
He also directed security agencies to take immediate and effective action against terrorists.
Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail also expressed grief over the attack, emphasizing that the government would ensure the safety of its people at all costs and would not allow peace in the province to be sabotaged.
Government Spokesperson’s Statement
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind condemned the incident, asserting that terrorists cannot weaken public morale.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Following the attack, fear and anxiety have spread among the residents of Nushki.
Citizens are calling on security forces to take strict action against terrorists.
Security forces have launched search operations in the area and have heightened security measures to prevent further attacks.
Given the recent rise in terrorist incidents in Balochistan, authorities have placed the province on high alert.
