Balochistan Football Revival Gains Momentum as Foreign Coaches Arrive in Quetta

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday said that sports grounds across the province are once again coming alive, terming the renewed momentum in football activities a highly encouraging and positive development.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the chief minister said that engaging youth in constructive activities and refining their talents through the promotion of sports remained among the top priorities of the provincial government.
He announced that a six-member foreign coaching team has arrived in Quetta to provide international-standard training to 63 footballers, describing the initiative as a significant step towards professionalizing football in Balochistan. He said the training program would be conducted on modern and professional lines to enhance players’ technical, physical and tactical skills.
Bugti highlighted that the inclusion of 12 women footballers in the training program clearly reflected the provincial government’s serious commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for women in sports. “This initiative demonstrates our resolve to empower women and promote inclusivity in the sporting arena,” he said.
The chief minister noted that training under the supervision of foreign coaches would not only improve the technical skills of local players but also boost their confidence, morale and professional outlook. He expressed optimism that such exposure would enable young footballers from Balochistan to compete at national and international levels.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Bugti said comprehensive investment was being made in the promotion of sports and the nurturing of young talent to provide athletes from the province with maximum opportunities to progress.
“Sports are not only a symbol of a healthy society but also a guarantee of a brighter future for our youth,” he said, adding that reforms and development in the sports sector would be further accelerated.
He expressed confidence that the ongoing training program would prove to be a milestone in the promotion of football and in strengthening the overall sports culture in Balochistan.
