Quetta, January 30, 2026:
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the restoration of inactive government schools across the province is moving at a fast pace, describing the ongoing reforms as a historic shift in Balochistan’s education sector driven by practical and result-oriented measures.
In a special message posted on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said Gwadar has become the first district in Balochistan where every government school is operational. He stated that all 313 government primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in the district are now fully functional, terming it a clear outcome of the provincial government’s education-focused policies.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti further noted that the Balochistan Education Department has formally verified in writing that no government school in Gwadar remains closed, and that an official certificate confirming complete functionality has also been issued. He said this transparent verification process has strengthened public confidence in the education system while reinforcing principles of merit and accountability.
Commending the district administration and education officials in Gwadar, the Chief Minister said the achievement was the result of dedication, honesty and coordinated teamwork. He expressed confidence that other districts would adopt the same commitment to ensure the swift revival of inactive schools.
Reiterating his resolve, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the provincial government is determined to ensure that no government school remains closed anywhere in Balochistan and that no child is denied access to education. He emphasized that education is the cornerstone of the province’s future, social development and long-term stability, adding that no compromise will be made on this vital sector.
