The ongoing reform campaign led by Chief Officer Nazar Zehri of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta for the beauty of the provincial capital Quetta and the provision of urban facilities has begun to yield positive results.

The public and social circles have praised Nazar Zehri’s performance in great words for the clear improvement in the sanitation system across the city, the restoration of street lights and bringing transparency in municipal affairs.

According to the details, as soon as Chief Officer Nazar Zehri assumed charge of the post, he initiated emergency measures to clean the city from garbage.

By mobilizing the Metropolitan staff, years-old garbage has been collected and disposed of not only from the main highways but also from the narrow streets of the city.

Quetta residents say that “after a long time, sweepers and garbage trucks are regularly seen on the city’s roads, which has reduced the spread of infectious diseases and improved the city’s landscape.”

To protect the lives and property of citizens and facilitate night-time movement, Nazar Zehri issued orders to immediately activate the street lights that were out of order on the city’s main highways, including Zarghun Road, Sariab Road and Jinnah Road.

With the hard work of technical staff day and night, the installation and repair of street lights in different zones of the city has been completed, which has doubled the beauty of the city at night.

The “open door policy” by the Chief Officer to ensure attendance at the offices of the Metropolitan Corporation and to promptly redress public grievances is also being highly appreciated.

Various social and commercial organizations and public circles have termed these efforts of Nazar Zehri as indispensable for the development of Quetta, saying:

“The appointment of a dutiful officer like Nazar Zehri has raised the prestige of the institution. He has proven that if the determination is true, then the destiny of the city can be changed even with limited resources.”

According to sources, Chief Officer Nazar Zehri has vowed that no effort will be spared to make Quetta a ‘Little Paris’ again.

He has directed the staff not to indulge in any negligence in the performance of their duties, otherwise strict departmental action will be taken.
