Reconstruction of safety dams in flood affected areas of Lasbela district is required on emergency basis

Lasbela August 10: Relief Commissioner Balochistan / DGP PDM. A. Jahanzeb Khan Kakar has said that there is an urgent need for the reconstruction of safety dams in the flood affected areas of Lasbela district.

He revealed these problems while talking to the administrative officers on the occasion of the visit of the flood-affected areas in the constituency of Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal. On the occasion of the visit, Assistant Commissioner Bela Ali Shah Abbasi and Engineer Malik Ashraf of the Irrigation Department briefed them regarding possible measures to restore the communication roads in the area and protect the flood affected areas. The Relief Commissioner was informed in the briefing that the damage has been caused due to the breach of safety dams in Luyani Narg Dhora of Musani Goth of Bela Tehsil and Kid Nadi of Kathor.

The communication roads have been partially restored in the affected Gothas. Due to the drought, crops have been damaged on a large scale in Luyani Dhora of Mosani Goth, the houses have been damaged due to the flood water entering the houses. Welfare Trust and other welfare organizations in charge of Sindh Balochistan of Edhi Welfare Foundation are also playing a dynamic role to support the administration. Solar panels worth lakhs of rupees of the landlords have become inoperable.
