Billions Lost to Corruption in Balochistan’s Health and Education Sectors — Senator Manzoor Kakar Demands Independent Accountability Commission
Quetta (October 11, 2025) — Senator Manzoor Ahmed Khan Kakar, Central General Secretary of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), has expressed grave concern over alleged large-scale corruption in Balochistan’s health and education sectors, calling for the establishment of an independent and impartial accountability commission to ensure transparent investigations.
In his official statement, Senator Kakar said that key public sectors such as health and education — essential for the welfare of the people — have fallen prey to corruption and nepotism. He claimed that thousands of recruitments under the Career Testing Services Pakistan (CTSP) lacked transparency, while the purchase of machinery and medicines in the health department involved massive financial irregularities worth millions of rupees.
“Corruption in fundamental sectors like health and education is intolerable,” Kakar stated. “Balochistan is already suffering from unemployment, poverty, and a lack of basic facilities. In such conditions, misuse of public funds is nothing short of a betrayal of the people.”
The Senator further criticized the existing accountability framework, terming it ineffective and outdated.
> “Until a truly autonomous and independent accountability commission is established, bringing corrupt elements to justice will remain impossible,” he asserted.
Kakar urged the government to initiate a forensic audit of all expenditures and recruitments in the health and education departments and demanded an immediate audit of CTSP’s hiring process.
He also warned that if the government fails to take immediate and concrete action, he will raise the issue not only in the Senate but also at the national level.
“Without eliminating corruption, there can be no good governance, no quality education, and no functional healthcare system in Balochistan,” he said, emphasizing the urgent need for structural reforms to restore public trust.
