Loralai Monitoring Committee Reviews Law and Order, Intensifies Action Against Smuggling and Drugs

The Divisional Monitoring Committee of Loralai held a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Commissioner Loralai Division Wali Muhammad Bareech to review the law and order situation and strengthen measures against smuggling, narcotics, and other illegal activities.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Bareech reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy, warning that those involved in drug trafficking, smuggling, and subversive acts would face strict legal action without any exception. The meeting was attended by representatives of Loralai Scouts, ISI, MI, IB, NADRA, Passport Office, Excise and Taxation, Customs, while Deputy Commissioners of all four districts participated via video link.
The committee reviewed key issues including prevention of narcotics and smuggling, action against non-custom-paid vehicles, monitoring of foreign nationals, identification of fake identity cards, seizure of illegal properties, implementation of the Fourth Schedule, and staff attendance in government departments. Progress in health and education sectors was also discussed, with officials briefing the forum on ongoing challenges and achievements.
While noting a decline in poppy cultivation, the Commissioner stressed that complete eradication remains the goal. He directed law enforcement agencies to block supply routes and ensure the arrest of drug dealers. He also ordered immediate action against undocumented foreign nationals and termed absenteeism in government offices unacceptable, directing removal of persistently absent officials.
Commissioner Bareech instructed Deputy Commissioners to hold Khuli Katcheries in remote areas to directly hear public grievances and restore confidence in government institutions. He also directed strict monitoring of explosives and urea fertilizer, registration of dealers, and close supervision of inter-district and inter-provincial movement of essential commodities, particularly in border areas.
Informing the meeting that the distinction between A and B areas has been abolished, the Commissioner directed Deputy Commissioners to submit a complete inventory of Levies personnel and assets to the respective District SSPs within one week.
DIG Police Junaid Ahmed, Major Kamran Khan, senior NADRA officials, Excise and Customs officers, and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
